MacOS Package (.pkg) Installer. The easiest way to install MacPorts on a Mac is by downloading the pkg or dmg for Catalina, Mojave, High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, Lion, Snow Leopard, Leopard or Tiger and running the system's Installer by double-clicking on the pkg contained therein, following the on-screen instructions until completion. Install and Launch the Chromebook Recovery Utility. Note: Only if you are using an older version of Mac OSX, unzipping the CloudReady file you downloaded may not work as expected. If you experience issues, try using the free Mac utility 'Unarchiver' to unzip the file. I recently stumbled across the following problem: The Installer would crash when trying to install a package (.pkg) I had downloaded. What to do? Of course, one solution is to use Pacifist, but 20 bucks is just too much to pay for manually installing a package once in a while. Now a.pkg bundle essentially contains an Archive.pax file, which is an archive of the files to be installed, so. Keep in mind, you cannot right-click a.pkg and choose Show Package Contents. This method only works for packages with package archives such as.app extension files. Suspicious Package is an Application designed to inspect any Mac X package files and help understand what the package will actually be installing your mac.
